Technologies and Markets
NUMMI was one of Plastikon’s largest customers. After the NUMMI plant closure, they needed to revisit their business model for the California operation. Plastikon was selected to participate in receiving funds from ACWIB for employee training through Manex. Manex helped the company retool for a brighter future.
Client Business Need
New United Motor Manufacturing Inc. (NUMMI) was one of Plastikon’s largest customers. NUMMI was the unique joint venture between Toyota and General Motors in Fremont. The partnership ended when GM pulled out and Toyota later decided to shut down the plant. This was an end of an era in the history of auto making on the West Coast and had a great impact on Plastikon, who was a dedicated and key supplier to NUMMI. After the NUMMI plant closure, they needed to revisit their business model for the California operation.
